Cairo the Cricket is a gifted musician and his friends, the shepherds, love his music. His lullabies can relax even the rowdiest sheep. But tonight, he has been given a very different job from one of the angels that visited his shepherd friends in the field—to play a lullaby for the newborn King. How can a tiny cricket make it all the way to Bethlehem, when dangers lurk around every corner? From irate birds to a sticky situation with an ant hole, Cairo’s journey seems impossible. But nothing is impossible with God.
Along the way, Cairo learns that God is with us in our toughest journeys, sending helpers to share their gifts with us along the way. But can Cairo’s new friends help him get all the way to Bethlehem in time to play his special song?
This is an absolutely delightful book that takes you through the journey of our Lord and Savior through the eyes of a cricket. It should inspire us all to use our talents to point to Jesus.

Like most parents I, as a father of 10 children, have read most of our kids books beyond the point of memorization! We tend to “love” the favorites to pieces. Because of that we are always on the lookout for something fresh and new. Janet’s new book “Cairo’s Christmas Journey” takes children on a creative adventure ride to the manger with a reminder that we have been blessed with many gifts that we should be “happy to share!” I am looking forward to sharing this gift with my littlest girls until we have “read this one to pieces” too.

Everyone is afraid at one time or another and everyone feels alone. But God is much bigger than any of our fears or loneliness and he never leaves our side. Sometimes we just need the right illustration to be able to see this for ourselves.
Landon is a lot like other kids. He has a loving father. He has a favorite bedtime story. And he is afraid of the dark. When the lights go off in his bedroom at night, shadow critters sneak in. They bounce out of the closet. They slide out from under the bed and Landon becomes afraid. Can Landon’s father show his son, with the help of a tiny firefly, the truth about God’s always-present love and dispel his son’s fears about the night-time shadow critters once and for all?
Goodnight, Firefly is a sweet story that shares one of God’s strongest truths: God will never leave us, even in our darkest nights. Children will fall in love with the charming story and delightful illustrations and relate to the struggles of dealing with fear. Just like Landon, they will discover that they, too, can trust God to always be there with them in the face of whatever fear is gripping them. No matter what is frightening them, they can count on one thing—God will never leave their side.
Good Night, Fireflies is a beautifully written and illustrated Christian based children’s book! Janet Christensen creatively captures a child’s interest by using fireflies as a way to explain how God is always present and always with us-no matter what! I loved the book! Wonderful gift(s) to give to others!!

What a special book. The story is beautiful and relevant for all ages. It’s a great book about God’s love and also perfect for starting conversations with kids about anxiety and God’s ever presence in our lives. The illustrations are colorful and perfect for the story. This will be a book I always give at baby showers and Birthday parties.
