When Beauty Emerges from Chaos

Cairo’s Christmas Journey, available now from Little Lamb Books

This week has been insane. A rollercoaster of crazy. From all angles.

It was the perfect storm brought about by a crazy work week in my full-time job and the much anticipated release of my second book, Cairo’s Christmas Journey. My publisher and I had everything in order for a smooth launch–the proverbial ducks were lined up in a nice and neat little row. That is when it happened. A technical hiccup, so to speak. Now, a technology challenge is a big enough bump in the road, but a technology challenge in the middle of a pandemic, where the ONLY way to get anything done is via technology, is another. And the only thing we could do in response was just roll with it.

Sometimes that is the way life goes, isn’t it? Our hands are tied. All we can do is sit and wait and pray. Then sit, wait, and pray some more. But it is in these times that an incredible beauty emerges…the quiet beauty that comes from deep and raw conversations with our Creator…the comforting beauty that comes from knowing you are not alone in the chaos…the peaceful beauty that comes from letting God and letting go.

Reflecting on the week, that is what stands out. Not the actual resolution of the chaos, although that was definitely nice. I was able to button up the projects that I needed to at work. Cairo has been successfully released into the world. Things are slowly merging back into the direction of normal. No, what stands out is the calm in the storm that only comes from leaning in close to the one that will never leave us when life’s crazy unleashes. May you be touched by that same beauty today.
